Obiettivi formativi

Il corso intende offrire agli studenti il campo di studi della filosofia e sociologia della conoscenza e del suo rapporto con le scienze cognitive.

Contenuti sintetici

Verrà introdotto il significato dei modelli, causalità e previsione nelle scienze sociali; il ruolo della mente nell’azione sociale; l’impatto delle scienze comportamentali nella politica; i fondamenti neurali del comportamento sociale.

Programma esteso

1)Il problema del metodo scientifico, la spiegazione e la previsione nelle scienze sociali ed economia
2)Olismo, individualismo e cognitivismo metodologico
3)Teoria cognitiva della conoscenza e dell’azione sociale
4)Nudge, l’architettura delle scelte ed il fondamento comportamentale delle scienze politiche
5)I meccanismi neurali del comportamento intersoggettivo e della socialità.

Learning objectives

The course deals with the philosophy and sociology of knowledge and with its relation with cognitive sciences

Contents

The course will introduce the meaning of models, causality and prediction in social sciences; the role of mind in social action; the impact of behavioral sciences in political sciences; the neural foundation of social behaviour.

  1. The problem of scientific method, explanation and prediction in social sciences and economics
  2. Holism, Individualism and Methodological Cognitivism
    3)The cognitive theory of knowledge and social action
    4)Nudge, Choice Architecture, and the behavioral basis of public policy
  3. The neural mechanism of social behaviour.
