Obiettivi

Alla fine del corso lo studente sarà in grado di:
• Descrivere l'eziologia, l'epidemiologia (inclusa la via di trasmissione), il quadro clinico e il decorso naturale delle principali malattie infettive e sindromi infettive;
• Integrare tali conoscenze con la scelta del percorso diagnostico appropriato per ciascuna malattia o sindrome (inclusa l'anamnesi, l'identificazione di sintomi e segni rilevanti, valutazione di laboratorio, test radiologici, diagnosi di complicanze e diagnosi differenziale);
• Descrivere le misure terapeutiche e preventive per le principali malattie infettive e sindromi infettive;
• Conoscere i fondamenti della chemioterapia antimicrobica delle più importanti malattie infettive.

Principi di epidemiologia, diagnosi, trattamento e prevenzione delle principali malattie infettive
Diagnosi differenziale e gestione clinica delle principali sindromi correlate ad infezioni ( Infezioni Sistemiche, Sepsi, Infezioni dell'apparato Cardiovascolare, Infezioni osee ed articolari, Infezioni della cute e dei tessuti molli, Infezioni da microorganismi sessualmente trasmesse, Infezioni dell'apparato respiratorio e dell'apparato digerente, Infezioni intra addominali)

Ø Infezioni respiratorie

  • Infezioni delle alte vie respiratorie
  • Infezioni delle basse vie respiratorie (inclusi concetti di base sulle Polmonite acquisite in comunità, sulle Polmoniti nosocomiali e sulle Polmoniti associate a ventilatore)
  • Influenza
  • Tuberculosi

Aims

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe the etiology, the epidemiology (including the route of transmission), the clinical picture, and the natural course of the principal infectious diseases and infective syndromes;
  • Integrate such knowledge with the choice of the appropriate diagnostic path for each disease or syndrome (including anamnesis, identification of relevant symptoms and signs, laboratory assessment, radiological tests, diagnosis of complication, and differential diagnosis);
  • Describe the therapeutic and preventive measures for the principal infectious diseases and infective syndromes;
  • Know the fundamentals of antimicrobial chemotherapy for the most important infectious diseases.

Differential diagnosis and management of clinical syndromes related to infections ( Systemic infections, Sepsis, Infections of Cardiovascular System, Bone and Joint infections, Skin and Soft tissue infections, Sexually Transmitted Infections,Respiratory tract and Digestive tract infections, Intra Abdominal Infections)
Management of antimicrobial therapy

  • Lower respiratory tract infections (including basic concepts on Community Acquired Pneumonia, Health Care Associated Pneumonia, Ventilator Associated Pneumonia)
