The Italian CFU system corresponds to the European Credit Transfer System (1 CFU = 1 ECTS). One Italian CFU is equivalent to a total of 25 hours of overall effort by the student, including self-study. The expected workload for the student in classroom depends on the type of teaching activity, as follows:
    1 CFU lecture/E-learning lecture = 7 hours
    1 CFU laboratory/practical class/field activity= 12 hours
    1 CFU traineeship/practical training = 25 hours
    1 CFU final examination = 25 hours
