Contenuti sintetici
Il corso si propone di presentare un quadro delle problematiche relative alla nascita della psicologia scientifica, promuovendo una riflessione critica sui presupposti teorici, epistemologici e metodologici e sui condizionamenti sociali che ne hanno guidato storicamente lo sviluppo. Ci si soffermerà sull’origine, l’evoluzione e la trasformazione dei principali orientamenti di ricerca dalla metà dell’Ottocento fino ai nostri giorni, collocandoli nel rispettivo contesto storico ed evidenziandone il programma di ricerca dominante.

- Il “lungo passato” della psicologia nel pensiero antico, medievale e moderno;
- Il sorgere della psicologia sperimentale in Germania e nelle altre realtà nazionali nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento
- La psicologia americana tra Ottocento e Novecento tra strutturalismo e funzionalismo
- La tradizione fenomenologica e la teoria della forma
- La prospettiva psicodinamica e la psicoanalisi
- La prospettiva comportamentista e la riflessologia
- La scuola storico-culturale
- Dal comportamentismo al cognitivismo

Contents
The course aims at presenting an overview of the problems related to the birth of scientific psychology, promoting a critical reflection on the theoretical, methodological and epistemological assumptions and on the social conditioning that have historically guided its development. It will focus on the origins, evolution and transformation of the main perspectives of research from the mid-nineteenth Century up to the present day, placing them in their proper historical context and highlighting their dominant research program.

- The rise of experimental psychology in Germany and in other countries during the second half of the nineteenth century
- Early American psychology between structuralism and functionalism
- The phenomenological tradition and Gestalt psychology
- Psychodynamic approaches and psychoanalysis
- The Cultural-Historical perspective
- Behaviourism and reflexology
- From behaviourism to cognitive psychology.
