Aims

  • Knowledge of the mechanisms, the causes and the clinical presentations of acute and chronic kidney injury and of the most common syndromes associated with renal diseases.

  • Knowledge of the role of the company doctor and of the main aspects of the medical surveillance. Knowledge of occupational risks in healthcare settings and pregnant women.

  • Understanding the basis and clinical behavior of the most common diseases of the urinary tract (lower urinary tract syndrome, kidney and ureteral stones) and of the most important urogenital cancer.

  • Knowledge of theoretical models for the study of renal function and the techniques used for the replacement of renal function

  • Fundamental knowledge of Public Health (vaccination practice, health care requirements to driving licence and firearms licence; application of legal requirements for civil invalidity; assessment and ascertainment of death and current legislation).
