Obiettivi

Il Corso di Patologia Medico Chirurgica 1 è finalizzato all’acquisizione delle diverse metodologie di valutazione del paziente con particolare attenzione alla raccolta dell’anamnesi, dell’esame obiettivo e dei test di laboratorio nella prospettiva della loro successiva applicazione in campo specialistico. Gli argomenti del Corso costituiscono gli strumenti necessari alla comprensione delle basi semeiologiche e della fisiopatologia delle principali condizioni morbose. Le nozioni fornite rappresentano la base indispensabile per l’acquisizione di un metodo scientifico applicabile a tutte le discipline specialistiche che lo studente si troverà ad affrontare nel corso della sua crescita professionale.

Raccolta elementi di anamnesi ed esecuzione esame obiettivo generale e specifico e test di laboratorio per apparati cardiovascolare e respiratorio. Diagnostica differenziale dei sintomi delle principali malattie dei due apparati.

Modalità di verifica del profitto e valutazione

L'esame prevede una prova orale che consiste di quattro valutazioni separate, condotte dai docenti di Cardiologia, pneumologia, chirurgia vascolare e esami di laboratorio.

L'esame orale valuta in modo intensivo la preparazione del candidato su tutto il programma dell'insegnamento, con richiesta di approfondimenti e collegamenti.

Aims

The Medical Surgical Pathology Course 1 is aimed at acquiring the various patient assessment methods with particular attention to the collection of the medical history, physical examination and laboratory tests with a view to their subsequent application in the specialist field. The topics of the course constitute the necessary tools for understanding the semeiological basis and physiopathology of the main morbid conditions. The notions provided represent the indispensable basis for the acquisition of a scientific method applicable to all the specialized disciplines that the student will face in the course of his professional growth.

Patient’s history taking, with focus on cardiovascular and respiratory problems, Diagnostic assessment with critical data interpretation, Physical examination, Main clinical signs and symptoms. Knowledge of normal ranges of the main diagnostic tests for the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.


Contents

Collection and interpretation of patients’ medical history, main signs and symptoms of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. To provide the tools for the correct use of biochemical tests, and the definition of their indications and interpretation. Information on how to perform correctly a physical examination with particular regards to venous and arterial vessels, as well as to cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

Assessment method

The finale examination is based on an oral test which consists of 4 separate interviews  on the following topics: cardiology, pneumology, vascular surgery and laboratory exams.   

Such an ora test is aimed at extensively assessing the candidates knowledge in relation to the entire teaching program, with evaluation of their ability to explore the required topics more in depth  and to make links to related issues.
